Community as a protective factor
People heal in relationship more often than they heal in a peak. That is not sentiment. It is how nervous systems and habits actually change.
Loneliness predicts worse outcomes across depression, substance use, and cardiovascular disease. It also makes people more susceptible to charismatic shortcuts. A durable community — one with norms, not just warmth — is part of mental wellness, whether or not anyone ever encounters a psychedelic.
What we mean by community
Not a fandom. Not a trauma-dumping circle with no facilitation. Not a private club that flatters insiders. We mean regular, bounded gatherings; a shared vocabulary; and the expectation that members look after the room, not only their story.
- Show up when you said you would.
- Leave other people’s material in the room.
- Do not recruit for underground sessions here.
- Make space for people who are not in crisis and people who are — without turning either into spectacle.
